One Sunny Morning

4 min

This piece is a beacon of hope for those who have been fighting for their hopes and dreams for as long as they can remember. One sunny morning you will wake up to the life you've always wanted, grateful that you never gave up on yourself.

One day you will wake up to the sun kissing you on the cheek. Colors will be vibrant and you’ll smell fresh coffee that your lover is making for you. Your body won’t ache, your jaw won’t be clenched, and your shoulders will be relaxed. Your bed will feel like a cloud, its warmth enveloping, swaddling you. You’ll look around your home and think to yourself, “Wow. I am so glad I made it through”. The beauty, the love, the life you never thought was remotely possible was waiting for you all along.

“Do I choose to end this suffering, this path and what may lay beyond the fog? Or do I keep wading through what feels like never-ending darkness?

Back then all you could see was darkness. You were trudging through thick fog, unable to make out a path or a direction. All you could sense was darkness, heaviness, and dread. The confusion was mind-numbing, crippling, frankly unbearable. You couldn’t see what was waiting for you and yearned to press the button that would take away it all. Do I choose to end this suffering, this path, and what may lay beyond the fog? Or do I keep wading through what feels like never-ending darkness?

“Eventually, the fog cleared… The sky was no longer a pale, unappetizing gray but instead, a sparkling blue painted with white clouds”

Cue the perspective change. Remember before when you felt there was no end to your suffering? Things were gray and dull; you felt lonely yet all you wanted to do was be by yourself. Eventually, the fog cleared. You felt the warmth of the sun again. The sky was no longer a pale, unappetizing gray but instead, a sparkling blue painted with white clouds. Getting out of bed stopped feeling like a battle and you didn’t have a second thought about it.

Things can and will feel good once more. It’s possible for life to feel better than ever before. Because you broadened your capacity to feel. That darkness, heaviness, and dread? It also opened and created a deeper potential for pleasure, joy, and freedom that you didn’t know was possible.

“You will have made it, to exist and just. be. there”

The struggle is here right now for a reason. You are meant to experience that higher level of joy that lies beyond what you have ever known.

Instead of receding into your mind, disconnecting from your reality, and crying yourself to sleep, you will wake up to warmth. To joy. To love. And you will take it all in. You will have made it, to exist and just. be. there.
